We’re all still kids!

We’re all still kids!

Remember the days of learning to ride a bicycle. If you were lucky it was probably by your dad holding the back of the seat keeping you balanced while he ran behind you or you may have had some kind friends who peer pressured you on & pushed you down the steepest hill in town in which balance was force learn’t. All of us have had incidences in life where it has built up or lowered our confidence. Having your pants pulled down in front of the girl you like in the school canteen line was ahh definitely not helpful.

It’s epic to see how kids react when they attempt their first surf lesson, most kids have this no fear attitude & even though there’re squealing like a girl as they take off on that first wave. The adrenaline of shooting down the wave becomes very addictive & wether they know it or not their confidence has been increased, now with their brain having learn’t wow, I can do it. Each & every time their response to “do you want to get another wave” is always yeeahhhh!

It amazes me how people when they get older even though they are bigger & stronger seem to gain more fear of things or fall into this “ohh i’m too old for that now”, Bahh rubbish, to overcome those fears continues to build your confidence & brings back to life that no fear inner child that we all have lurking around. A couple I know started surfing when they turned 50 years old & now surf everyday, have a new lease of life & comment on how young they feel again.

You only have to sit & watch those who learn to surf & take wave after wave to see their confidence grow & this then spills out onto the rest of their life & what ever that brings.

Are you ready to jump on the wave?

Tim’s Tip: No matter the size of the wave keep low, this will help your balance & set you up for your turns. info@skylaphuket.com
