Surf Safety Rule
Hey surf frotha’s I hope you have been scoring some waves and your cutback turns are getting better.
The crazy constant bursts of rain & wind have finally calmed down and most beaches have seen clean waist height waves this week. I felt compelled to share this episode about surf safety after witnessing a few accidents.
* Before you go surfing check your equipment that there is no damage *Always wear your leash *Never drop in on or snake someone, look left & right when you paddle and whoever is closest to the breaking part if the wave has right of way *Whenever safely possible hold onto your board even with a big wave, if you have to throw your board away check no-one is behind you *When paddling out paddle wide so your not in the way of incoming surfers *Communicate with other surfers which direction you are going to go so you don’t crash into each other.
Tim’s Tip: By making these a habit you will minimize accidents in the water.
See you in the water!
